"Girl from Nowhere" Review

Warning, Contain some spoilers.

Lately I have been busy tending to my research for my bachelor degree. In the middle of my lab works, I found new drama from Thailand called girl from nowhere and I'm hooked with the series.

Girls from nowhere is a popular Netflix series from Thailand. The drama revolves around a mysterious girl named Nanno who was played by Chica Amatayakul who always transfer to different school for exposed every evil deeds from student, teacher and the darkest secret of every school. This drama based on real stories of Thailand school that served with some thriller, slice of life, and a little bit fantasy touch.

The drama have 2 season, season 1 aired on 2018 with 13 episodes and season 2 that lately released on 7th May 2021. Each episodes have different stories, but in season 2 you need to watch in order because this season we have some new characters and some rivalry between Nanno and Yuri. The unique point that I found from this drama is every episode is directed with different director so the editing for every episode is different, and I found this is unique because mainly the drama we watch only directed by one or two director.

My ratings: 9/10

Overall I enjoy every episodes of the drama but some of the episode kinda forced that lack of impact for me. I love Nanno character, she isn't evil nor good person. I read some comment about her and I agree that Nanno represent karma for every person based on their deeds. because Nanno don't always punish people, we can see this in season 1 episode 8 and season 2 episode 2. Nanno is very cunning and really give people taste their medicine until they fed up. Some stories I found really unique and the ending have some twist that I even didn't think about

The only things I don't like is some scene are to murderous and many violence that make me uncomfortable to watch, but nonetheless, I enjoy watch the drama. If you like some mystery and thriller episode with some plot twist I recommend you to watch this drama. But if you don't like heavy, dark, and violence I don't suggest you to watch this drama.

My best favourite episode from this drama is Season 2 episode 6 "Liberation" and Season 1 episode 8 "True Love".

For imdb website, the "Liberation" have the highest rating and I agree because this episode served mainly black and white that I find aesthetic. The stories about this episode is relatable especially in Indonesia school where some teacher think their rules is the right one and the most relatable part is the. Why this episode is my favourite because we can see Nanno really surpass Yuri in terms of plan and in this rivalry we can see Nanno won the game. Yuri is kinda reckless in this episode to think that her way is more fastest but Nanno took advantage from Yuri and nailed it.

The "true love" episode is the lowest rate of the series but I liked it. Many people think because this episode is light and no dark scene but I like this episode because for me this episode kinda refreshing our mind from another heavy storyline. I like Nanno is have some human emotion and the male TK is not really evil, He just want some attention. But the sad part from this episode from me is I think Nanno kinda fallen for TK but she knew she can't be with Him because she have some mission to do. But overall this episode really refreshing and heartwarming.

My thought for the ending

And I think this drama will have season 3 although I found some comment that informed the lead say they would not likely to have season 3, but from the ending we can sure that this season have some open endings because on season 2 episode 8 when Nanno was killed and Yuri think she win and give Junko her blood, We can see that at very the last scene, Nanno see them parting in front of the building. I think Nanno actually wanna test Yuri because she think Yuri have potential and want to see what Yuri gonna do when She have the power. But my opinion, in next season Yuri will get her Karma because she kinda use her power to abuse.
